Resetting user passwords

You can reset a user password without making any other changes to the user’s data, as shown below. Note that these steps relate to the password that users enter when they log into the administration web application.

Note: If your company uses LDAP, .NET trust, or external authentication, then you do not maintain passwords in the JAMIS e-timecard administration application, and the Reset User Password screen is not available.

To reset a user password

  1. From the home page > Setup tab, under Security, click Reset user password. Or, from the top of any screen, click Security > Reset User Password. The Reset User Password screen appears.

  2. Enter the security user ID for which you wish to reset the password. You can click html/lookup.gif to the right of the field to look it up.

  3. The Reset Password to field defaults to Timecard. Accept this default, or enter a different password.

  4. Click Reset. JAMIS resets the user’s password to the one that you entered.

The next time that the user logs into the administration web application, s/he will enter this password. After the system accepts the password, it will prompt the user to enter a new password.
