Customizing profile messages


You are required to enter an error message code for the profile header, and you can also attach error messages to any unit of time in the profile detail to provide more specific explanations to the employee. You can customize error messages for different profiles.

If the message is blank at the detail level for the daily or period total, then e-timecard automatically uses your message selection from the header.

e-timecard comes with 40 predefined profile error messages for your use. Each message number is in the format PF####; for example, PF0010. You can customize the text associated with each of these messages, as shown in the instructions below.

To customize error messages

  1. From the JAMIS Administration home page > Setup tab, under Application Setup, click Messages. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Application Setup > Messages. The Messages screen appears.

  2. In the Filters section, enter the Message Number for which you want to change the text.

  3. Click Retrieve. JAMIS displays data for the message in the bottom section of the screen.

  4. Click Edit to the left of the message. JAMIS makes the Message Text field editable.

  5. Highlight the text that you want to change, then type your new text.

  6. Click Update to commit your changes to the message text.
