Creating reason codes
Follow these steps to create a reason code.
To create a reason code
From the JAMIS Administration home page > Setup tab, under Application Setup, click Reason codes. Or, from the top of any JAMIS Administration screen, click Application Setup > Reason Codes. The Reason Codes screen appears.
Click Add. In the bottom section of the screen, reason code entry fields appear.
Select a Reason Type from the dropdown list. The selections relevant to e-timecard are:
Change Time Cards
Delegate Approval
Reject Time Cards
Mass Enter Time Cards
Late Entry
Late Submit
Reason to Leave
Leave of Absence
Enter up to ten characters for a Reason Code.
Enter up to 60 characters for a reason code Description.
If you selected Delegate Approval for the Reason Type, skip the following step.
Click the Explanation Required check box if you want to require users to enter an additional explanation when they select this reason code.
This step applies if you selected Change Time Cards from the Reason Type dropdown list. For the Used field, turn on all the check boxes that determine when this reason code can be selected for time card changes.

All check boxes are turned on by default. At least one check box must be turned on in order to save the change reason code.
If you save the reason code with any check box turned off, then the reason code won’t be available for that stage of the time card cycle. For example, if you turn off the Before Submit check box, then when an employee changes a time card before submitting it, that reason code won’t appear in the dropdown list.
Note: Your reason code Used setting ties into the Change Reason Codes field on the Org9 Setup screen. There, you determine the circumstances that require an employee to select a reason code for time card changes.
Click Update to commit your reason code entries.
