Allowing for uncompensated overtime
If employees work hours in excess of the regular period total for which your company doesn’t pay them, then they can charge to an uncompensated earning code if your company wants to track the hours. You designate an uncompensated earning code in the Earning Class field on the Earning Codes screen.
The screen below shows how you could set up unpaid overtime. This scenario requires employees to charge any daily hours over eight to uncompensated time. If you want employees to charge hours over the total rather than the daily hours to uncompensated time, enter the period total in the Unpaid Overtime From field, and don’t enter the daily figures.
To allow for uncompensated overtime
In the Unpaid Overtime From field, enter up to two decimal places for the number of hours after which employees charge to the uncompensated earning code.
