Selecting the time card changes that require reason codes
You have flexibility in deciding what time card changes result in the system prompting for a reason code.
By default, the system always prompts for a reason code for any fields that change as a result of an employee’s edit. For example, if the employee changes a job, and the org9 that defaults from the job changes as a result, then the system prompts for change reason codes for both the job and the org9, even if the org9 is displayed/not editable or not displayed at all.
If you wish to narrow the fields for which the system prompts for a change reason code, you can choose to require a reason code for only editable fields, or for only editable and display-only fields.
You have the following choices for the Require reason code for field.
All Fields: The system prompts for reason codes for all fields affected by a change: editable, display-only, and "behind the scenes" fields that the screen does not display. This is the default.
Editable Fields: The system prompts for a reason code only when the employee changes data that affects editable fields.
Editable and Display-Only Fields: The system prompts for a reason code for employee changes that affect either editable or display-only fields. It does not prompt for a reason code for fields that do not appear on the screen changing as a result of the employee's actions.
Note: You go to the Org9 Setup screen to determine the circumstances that require change reason codes: never; after any change; after submitted; after archived.
